Rachel Murphy is deeply concerned about the experience that his five-pound Toto had last weekend. Rachel claims that a groomer taped Toto r’s mouth shut when it was bitten. This resulted in the dog looking bloody and being distressed.
Rachel told the story, "My puppy was in obvious distress. What I originally thought was an actual muzzle, turned out to actually be tape. Toto r’s paws appeared to be red and inflicted with injuries. The toenails had been cut too near to the paw which probably triggered his biting response."
The groomer responsible for these actions was employed by Wow! My Dog, a mobile pet salon.
Rachel took Toto straight to the hospital for emergency medical care. He joined a number of others in accusing Wow! My Dog for animal abuse. As a result, the San Mateo's office has initiated an investigation into the company for potential animal cruelty.
Rachel described what he saw. "I noticed injuries near the joints, in the neck area, and around the genital areas." The cuts were severe enough to cause bleeding."
Marianna De las Vegas is a Wow! My Dog customer who posted a Yelp Review about his pet being returned injured or ill. Another customer captured a Snapchat video showing a dog in apparent pain, claiming that a groomer had forcefully inserted a napkin into the dog's ear.
Bad Review
In addition to the damning Yelp reviews, Wow! My Dog wants customers to be aware of what the groomer told him, as someone they had entrusted with their pets' well-being. Rachel shared: "Juliann told that I should tape my mouth shut as it was an acceptable and normal method. Juliann claimed this is better than a muzzle because he thinks a dog can get hurt by using one. He said that he uses the method himself on his dogs.
Gate News called Wow! My Dog and she answered, but then handed the phone over to another woman who told Gate News that they were looking into the allegations. When asked about Puppy, she immediately said that it was an more info independent entity, before abruptly terminating the call.
